Yussi goes to…

Politik 2.0

“Politik 2.0″ is a series of white-papers, I wrote with Barbara Hofmann, that look at various Web 2.0 platforms and how to use them as a tool for political communication. The intention of the papers is not to study these social media theoretically but analyse how each medium is already used by various politicians and pundits in Austria and Germany and what we can learn from their usage and mistakes. Each paper also looks at how recipients/constituents use those platforms to see who’s “on the other side of the tube”. Also, for people who are new to the platform it introduces very basically functions and programs surrounding it.

Each paper is structured the same way:

a) it presents and analyzes the use of the very medium by politicians in Austria and Germany,

b) it summarizes rules for its use,

c) it looks at how recipients use the platform

d) it introduces a social medium, for those unfamiliar with it’s functions, advantages, etc.

It’s obvious that the old medium paper never can catch up with new media, so they are constantly work in progress. Comments, feedback, additions are highly welcome in the comment section below or via various other channels. We also appreciate that you send the papers to whoever wants and doesn’t want to read it.

So far, two papers have been published:
